I was bored tonight, so I decided to try new cocktails from I book I have.
First up was the Purple Haze, a shooter.
It's a third ounce each of vodka, Chambord and lime juice, shaken in a shaker half filled with ice.
It's a pretty sweet tasting shooter. Very fruity.
Second up was the Rose Petal. It's a kind of martini, I guess.
It's 1.5 oz vodka, .5 oz white crème de cacao, .5 oz lychee liqueur and a dash of grenadine. Shake it all in a shaker full of ice then strain in a martini glass. Garnish with a rose petal.
This tastes like it would be a great dessert or with an appropriate dessert. It's not super chocolatey or anything, but it is sweet with quite a kick. Most of all , this drink looks GREAT ! It's all passion red and stuff. Great for a romantic night at home with the SO. :D
Last of all, I tried the Alice in Wonderland. Another shooter.
It's a third ounce each of Kahlua, tequila and Grand Marnier.
It's okay, I guess, but I've come to the realization that doing anything except a margarita on the rocks with tequila is a waste of perfectly good tequila.
Okay, I lied. After my fine motor control was shot, I wanted to try a layered drink. So I made a butterscotch mocha, which is a third ounce each of kahlua, then butterscotch schnapps layered onto it, then Bailey's over it all.
I botched the layering part, but the result is pretty fucking amazing tasting. Very sweet, obviously. Note to self - my bar spoon doesn't fit properly into that model of shot glasses.
