If you're anti firearm go to another thread :)

So what was your interduction to firearms and what was your first ones ?

Dad got a Daisy BB gun (made here in Arkansas :)) when I was 7 I believe, taguht me the basic gun safty and how to aim and shoot. My first real gun that was all mine was a 20 gauge single barrel on my 10th birthday (I used Dads before this), I busted Squirrel, rabbits and deer with the thing, quail and dove too. I passed it along to Turdhead when his 10th came and I believe he still has it, a 12 Guage pump followed this and it's at the house now.

For Chirstmas one year I recieved a Remington Nylon 66, plinged many a can and sent a snake or 1000 to be with Set., good squirrel gun too. A Remington 742 Woodmaster in 30-06 was next, the extractor went out on it as that model year is prone to do and turned it into a single shot :(. All my rifles after that was guverment supplied.

Never one for pistols in my youth, a .22 Ruger from my Uncle was the only one I had.

I received a Daisy BB gun WAY early. After proving I was safe and responsible with it I recieved a lever action Marlin .22. The golden trigger model. 18 long rifles or 22 short rifles. Accurate as all get out some 28 years later and looks about as good as it did the day I recieved it.

Later came a 12 gauge, a 20 gauge pump, a 9 shot 22 revolver, a .357 Magnum. The S&W L686 framed monster that is my favorite. 4 inch barrel, custom Hogue grips, manhunter sights.

In between have been a succesion of almost every type. A couple of assault type rifles have passed through, a folding .22 rifle. A 30-30 a 30 aught 6, SKS, lots of fun but temporary toys.

The only gun I've ever owned has already been mentioned twice. The Daisy.

For some reason never had a lever action just pumps and Autos, had a .30 carbine once but the deer laughed at it.

I have owned 5 lever action .22s. Still my favorite way to shoot.

I've fired a buddy's .30-30 LA but stuck to my auto, besides I liked the 30.06 better. My late BIL had a Thompson Center Firearms Contender after he lost his arm to cancer, had a .45 barrel (it could shoot .410 too). Never got a deer but he did get a squirrel with the .410, I believe that was the happiest VD was during that period, his son Rob has it now.

Gun & Ammo (http://www.gunsandammomag.com/tv/) has a new show on the Outdoor Channel BTW, first episode is today in fact.

Only non-toy firearm I've ever used was the AK-5 (slightly modified FN-FNC) assault rifle I was issued in the military.

First gun I ever owned was a Daisy BB gun I got when I was 7 years old. But the first actual firearm I owned was a 20 gauge pump-action shotgun I got when I was 12 years old.

I also own a Ruger 10-22, a lever-action Marlin .22 rifle (passed on to me from my deceased grandfather), and a Ruger Mini-14. My next gun purchase will probably be a handgun - either a Ruger Vaquero or a Springfield Armory Mil-Spec. I also plan on buying a Remington 700 for deer and elk hunting.

When I went in the m16A1(trangular foregrip) was issued and a .45 sidearm sometimes, and a M203 GL in one unit. When I left it was the M16A2 (rnd foregrip with burst) and the Berrata
