This site is incredible:

http://smu.com/

I was at the hobby shop a friend of mine manages a few weeks ago, not a big thing - I hang out there always, when the owner of this company Scale Models Unlimited, called up and placed an order for 1000 tiny little trees from Woodland Scenics. Don, the manager of the hobby shop, told me about this site and I've been surfing about it ever since.

And yes, the Scale Models Unlimited owner apparently went to Southern Methodist University.

I love looking at this stuff. When I was a kid, and a teen, whenever a company had one of these on display, I was always glued to it. I especially remember the huge mock up our Baptist Hospital kept in their lobby. Whenever my family went there, to visit grandma or whomever, they had to drag me away from the model.

So awesome. The rise of 3D computer modeling has really turned this into a dying art. I only got to do a single modeling project in landscape architecture school. It ended up looking like total ass.
