I have been inspired by my empty fridge to try and combine that which I have to avoid going to the store...

Green mangos
Chilies (a few kinds)
Zuccini
2 Fresh tomatos
Garlic
Onion
Ground Turkey
Eggs

Okay thats the list of ingredients... what can you come up with that I can feed myself, my wife and my kid with outta that?

I think I can fumble my way through a Thai style amgo chili salad but I really need inspiration to do much else.

Yes.

Go get two limes.

Dice the rest, make some rice, fry it all up.

Wow. That requires far more food-creativity than I have. Let us know if you make something palatable!

Bryns idea would be palatable... hell it would taste pretty good all in all, it just won't look that tasty.

Mangos. With ground turkey, garlic and onions. Call me old fashioned, but I'm having some difficulty finding this potential food a source of good and not evil.

Tangy, sweet, garlic, citrus, onion with a touch of heat and spices... that doesn't sound good?

If you like Thai food you've eaten the bulk of that combo already.

I only like curry. Ok, maybe some coconut and curry, but leave the fruit out of it for the most part! Do not defile the fruit!

Turkey Chili-Mango Burgers with Grilled Zucchini.

Dice up those mangos, some garlic and chilis and add them to the ground turkey. Throw in some bread crumbs and an egg as a binder and make patties.

Take the rest of your garlic, and dice it up. Cut your zucchinis in half length wise, and score the back with a knife or a fork. Drizzle some olive oil on them, hit them with some salt and the garlic and let them sit for an hour or two. Throw them on the grill alongside those burgers.

:)

I see a big plate of omelets in that list of ingredients, but...
I like omelets and have stuck some weird things in them

Maybe that's why I can't cook -- I'm fucking picky.

I'd imagine thats a large contributing factor. You don't love food and you don't want to see how flavors you like might be combined.

Yep, I fucking HATE food. In fact, that's why I'm fat. Really -- I don't want to be bothered with food, so I pick the quickest and easiest crap to eat, which usually has the most fat and sugar. Combine that with hypoglycemia and you've fattity fat fat fat. When Varaj cooks I eat better.

Dice up the mangoes, tomatoes, and onion. Mix with chopped garlic and chilies (taste for spiciness) and make a mango salsa. Cook the turkey and eggs together (or separately) for scrambled eggs and turkey. Serve with salsa. For a side, slice the zucchini and fry up until brown.

I just can't imagine not loving food.

I think it's the inevitable byproduct of having a terrible cook for a mother. Eating bland, mushy, overcooked food for your first 15 years would put you off it, too.

My mom thought she was inspired and made polish sausage, velveta cheese, modified catchup on whole wheat crust pizza... that was one of her better dishes.

Once I learned that food could taste good I was in l;ove with the stuff.

I can see it going either way when confronted with horrid food.

Or maybe you are to busy to cook. I don't cook unless I feel inspired to do so. Hunger usually isn't enough inspiration for me.

Turkey burgers and mango margaritas. It's the right thing to do.

I also come from a line of generally bland cooks. It may explain my love of liver, one of the few things they couldn't make flavorless.

Liver is good.
