I was getting tired of being all soft and weak so I started using exercise as play with my 26 month old son... he loves it and I'm getting in shape as well as spending quality time with him and instilling good habits for his future.
I'm hoping to be able to do pushups with him standing on my shoulders with in a year.

He thought the pushups were cool and had to show them to mommy when she got home from work.
Of course she had to ask me what he was showing her cause it looked like a funky hindu pushup/seal imitation.

Just about everything he does is cute.... oh to have the innate charisma of a two year old.

Is this going to lead to arguments about how much to feed him?

So far we go with he eats till he doesn't want to eat. My hope is without social training in the matters of food we are by nature mostly self regulating.

I keep reading this "exercising my son" and think "why did you let demons get him"?
On topic: Very cool. Great way to go about it.

Given that I'm the dad it was bound to happen.

Probably a good plan, but I was refering to the fact that he won't be getting any smaller any time soon. :)

WOW my son must be very skinny because he is 4 years old and is only about 36lbs.
I think it is great that you are doing this.

I've had other parents ask what was wrong with him... they thought he was a year or two older than he is and wondered why his language was so off.
We are now going to the park and running all over the place like idiots... good cardio and it wears him down so he sleeps at night.
Just point him towards the squirrels and tell him "sic em", never know he might bring back dinner.
