I mean it. I am not going to sit on my ass playing in the arcade or reading KT or even watching stuff on my dvr. I will be productive.

For instance ?
(It's alright, I will laze around enough for two.)

Well, I just stripped my bed and am working on sorting my laundry.

Did you ever finish that or are you sleeping on a bare matress now?

As someone who suffers from depression and bouts of insane procrastination, may I offer some suggestions?
(1) Write a "reverse to do list" - a "done list". Every time you do something that you think counts as productive, write it done on your "Done today list". Think of it as a little self congratulation. And don't just put down achieving and finishing projects, put down each sensibly discrete action. So, even if you haven't "cleaned the house", you may well have "changed the bed" or even just "stripped the bed", etc.
(2) If you have a list of things to do, try not to think of it as a list that must be gotten through, but as a menu of options for ways to stick new thing in your "done today" list.
(3) Whenever you feel you need to do something to take a break, before you decide on one of "playing in the arcade or reading KT or even watching stuff on my dvr", look over your menu of things you might do and see if there's one there that might serve as a way to have a "break". Or if there's one there that could be done while doing a real break thing - like ironing or folding while you watch the dvr, etc.
I know from bitter experience that when I'm completely in terminal unproductive mode, these tricks don't work. But they do work for me if I'm on the cusp, so to speak - they can work to get me going.
Good luck!

I was semi productive. I redressed the bed, cleaned the kitchen counters and resorted a cabinet. Then I made oatmeal/apicot/walnut/cherry cookies and a strawberry cake. In the evening I worked on copying stuff off my harddrive that needs to be reformatted. So all in all I was pretty productive though the baking was not on my need to do list, it was more a this will be fun project.
Atticus - I think part of my problem is I have some sort of low level ADD. This makes it really hard for me focus on doing one task at a time which makes housework almost impossible. I kept catching myself wondering off as I tried to clean off the coffee table or computer desk.
I do tend to do really tedius tasks like folding and sorting while watching tv which does help a lot. I'll see if your other suggestions work for me. Thanks.
All in all, I'm pretty proud of myself for what little I did accomplished.

Low level ADD... I thought that comes from having breasts.

Sort of. Gay men have it to, it is caused by dealing with men.

You'll be pleased to know that in fact, I had a very busy day yesterday.
