View Full Version : Hollywood? It's Radu. I'm filing for divorce.
... having just heard about the plans for a Scarface redo, I have to ask, "WHY?" What the hell could POSSIBLY motivate someone to want to re-make this film (besides a blatant cash grab)? Are we REALLY running SO DRY on good scripts we have to constantly remake older, successful movies? Give me a break, Hollywood. Please.

Apparantly there really are no new ideas. I mean, they remade Footloose. Fucking Footloose.

Brewer. Craig motherfucking Brewer remade Footloose. I am thinking it might just be a must-see, but I haven't caught any non-prejudiced reviews yet [and by that I mean national reviews - the Memphis reviewers are agog over the film].

Nothing new here. This is the MO for Hollywood right now. At least remake bad movies that could use a do-over.

Ooh! Ooh! Somebody should totally start a "Remake Zardoz" petition! Imagine what that flying head would look like with today's CG technology! XD

Having never seen Footloose the first time around, I can't judge, but the remake was damned with faint praise in the NYT by AO Scott. Zardoz, now that was a snorefest. Flying head and Sean Connery, if memory serves. They sure couldn't hurt that one with a remake.

I haven't seen Zardoz - so was it a flying head of Sean Connery?

No, the flying head was a vehicle. Sean Connery looked like this in the movie:

I wish I could have heard the conversation when this catchy costume was first presented to the actor... did he protest? "You want me to wear what????" And when the costume designers were doing conceptual sketches for it, didn't the resemblance to a diaper with suspenders dawn on them? Or were they too high to notice it?

Hmm...on the one hand: BOO REBOOT!
On the other: Bryan Fuller is the guy behind Dead Like Me, Wonderfalls and Pushing Daises.
