Meteorite Crash Causes 'Mystery Illness'

LIMA, Peru (AP) - A village in southern Peru has been struck by a mysterious illness after a meteorite crashed to the earth around midday Saturday, an official with the local health department said.
Villagers heard an explosion and saw a fireball that many thought was an airplane crashing near their remote village, located in the high Andes department of Puno in the Desaguadero region, near the border with Bolivia, according to a report from AFP.
Residents later complained of headaches and vomiting brought on by a "strange odor," according to health department official Jorge Lopez.
Seven policemen who went to check on the reports also became ill and had to be given oxygen before being hospitalized, Lopez said.
Rescue teams and experts were dispatched to the scene, where the meteorite left a 100-foot-wide (30-meter-wide) and 20-foot-deep (six-meter-deep) crater, said local official Marco Limache.
"Boiling water started coming out of the crater and particles of rock and cinders were found nearby. Residents are very concerned," he said.

This certainly works well if you are facing 1 or 2 zombies - but the last thing the living would want to do is get dragged into hand to hand combat with zombies. - one mistake and you are zombie chow.
That being said, any sort of gunshot would bring the zombies in from miles - so unless you are on a water tower with lots of ammo and a couple days water and food - best choice is just avoid them - and move to Canada - they will freeze solid here in a couple of months :)

seems like the logical outcome to me. Blob would definitely "win" (ie eat the zombies first), no doubt about it.

Former human zombies in zombie movies seem only interested by human brains -- I don't remember hearing about them raiding farms, for example. So, logically, a blob zombie would attack other blobs to devour their brains. The question is, what is a blob's brain?

I think it's a giant brain. It's neurons are laced throughout the gelatinous structure, allowing individual pieces to be dangerous if not disposed of before they can grow and join the collective.
The blob is the ultimate symbol of communism! Just more functional. :D

Why not THEM or The Incredible Shirnking Man they were anti nuke movies, testing caused Them and a test was the cause of TISM ? The Blob was alien lifeform and didn't have nothing to do with the Cold War.
